British naturalist and TV presenter Chris Packham has been announced as patron for the Bournemouth Natural Science Society (BNSS), and is to help promote and support the society's work within the community.

Packham commented 'The BNSS has a remarkable collection; a treasury of the world's life and its history. The BNSS may be unique, and whatever your age, you will find it a haven of wonder. To be able to join them as patron is thus a genuine honour'.
